  5. Description:    Yorick is a very fast interpreted language designed for
  6.                 scientific computing and numerical analysis.  The syntax
  7.                 is similar to C, but without declarative statements.
  8.                 This is a binary distribution for Linux.  To install
  9.                 (as root), simply untar it in the / directory.  Everything
  10.                 Yorick needs in order to run will be placed in the
  11.                 /usr/local tree.  The documentation is included in
  12.                 /usr/local/src/yorick-1.1/Yorick/doc, /usr/local/man/man1,
  13.                 and /usr/local/info.  In order to make the latter visible,
  14.                 you should merge /usr/local/info/yorick-dir with
  15.                 /usr/local/info/dir.  Read the man pages for "yorick" and
  16.                 "gist" to get started.
  17.                 Note: If you want to build your own compiled modules into
  18.                       Yorick to make a custom version, you will also
  19.                       need to install yorick-1.1.lib.tgz.
  20.                 If you want the source code, you can unpack yorick-1.1.tgz
  21.                 in /usr/local/src to merge it smoothly into the
  22.                 yorick-1.1.bin.tgz and yorick-1.1.lib.tgz binary
  23.                 distributions.
